This chess set was the first project I ever created in a 3D software. I was given the task of creating a chess set based on the baroque art period. The goal was to study architecture from this period and pull some of the unique characteristics from it and replicate the style with chess pieces.

I drew from the art style by using gold accents on most of my pieces. I also gave each piece a decorative base such as that of many pillars made during this time. I gave the chess board itself a sleek, shiny texture with no border to add to the elegance.
